Why convert SVG to PNG?

SVG is great for the web but some platforms (social media, email clients, older apps) don't support SVG. Converting to PNG gives you a raster image that works everywhere.

What resolution should I export at?

For web: 2× your display size (e.g. 800×600 for a 400×300 display area). For print: at least 300 DPI. For social media icons: 1024×1024 or larger.

Will the PNG be as sharp as the SVG?

SVG is infinitely scalable. PNG is raster — at the exact export resolution it's pixel-perfect, but enlarging the PNG afterwards will look blurry. Export at the largest size you'll need.
