What is my IP address?
Your IP address is a unique number assigned to your internet connection by your ISP. It identifies your device on the internet, like a return address for data packets.
What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
IPv4 addresses are 32-bit numbers written as four groups (e.g. 192.168.1.1). IPv6 addresses are 128-bit, written in hexadecimal (e.g. 2001:db8::1). IPv6 was created because IPv4 addresses are running out.
Can websites see my real IP address?
