Models: ch_PP-OCRv2 detection + recognition models from PaddlePaddle. Trained on ~9 million Chinese + English samples.
Privacy: Your image never leaves your device. The OCR engine and models run as JavaScript + WASM + WebGL inside your browser tab.
For best results:
- Use sharp, well-lit images. Higher resolution (≥ 600 px on the long side) helps detection.
- If text is sideways, use the rotation buttons.
- Photos of paper documents work best when shot straight-on, not at an angle.
- For pure English/Latin text, our Tesseract OCR tool is also a good alternative.
