Privacy Policy

How we handle information when you use FreeTools.io — in plain language, with the legal detail below.

Last updated:

At a glance

Browser-first

Most tools run locally; your files often never reach our servers.

Minimal server data

Network lookups send only what’s needed for that request—no profiling.

Aggregated analytics

We may use anonymized stats to see what’s popular—not who you are.

Lightweight cookies

Essential cookies only; theme and basics. Ads may add more if enabled.

1. Overview

FreeTools (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website and tools.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Client-side processing

The majority of our tools operate entirely within your browser. Files, text, and other data you input are processed locally and are not stored on our servers. This includes image tools, PDF tools, text tools, and most developer utilities.

2.2 Server-side tools

Some tools require server-side processing (for example DNS lookup, WHOIS, HTTP status, SSL checks). The domain name or URL you enter is processed to return the requested information. We do not use this to build advertising profiles about you.

2.3 Analytics

We may collect anonymized usage statistics (for example which tools are popular) to improve the service. This data does not identify individual users.

3. Cookies

We use minimal cookies necessary for the site (for example theme preference). We do not use invasive cross-site tracking. If Google AdSense is enabled, it may use cookies to show relevant ads; you can adjust preferences through Google's ad settings.

4. Third-party services

We may rely on the following services (each has its own privacy policy):

  • Cloudflare — hosting and CDN
  • Google AdSense — optional advertising
  • ipapi.co — IP geolocation for IP lookup tools
  • dns.google — DNS resolution for DNS tools
  • rdap.org — WHOIS/RDAP for domain lookups
  • crt.sh — SSL certificate data when checking certificates

5. Data security

We apply reasonable safeguards for any data processed on our servers. Because most tools run in your browser, sensitive content you process often never leaves your device.

6. Children's privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
